The Rhodes foundation scholarship for 2012 is currently open for Kenyan Students at University of Oxford, UK. The scholarship is for postgraduate students from Kenya to study for Masters and DPhil. The Rhodes Trust and Oxford University require that selection for a Scholarship and for admission to the University will be without regard to marital status, race, ethnic origin, colour, sex and gender, religion, sexual orientation, social background, disability, caste or other irrelevant distinction.

Scholarship Duration
The basic tenure of the Scholarship is two years, subject always, and at all times, to satisfactory academic performance and personal conduct. In some cases, and at the discretion of the Trustees, the Scholarship may be extended for a third year.

Mathematical, Physical, life Sciences, Medical Sciences, Humanities & Social Sciences
Eligibility:
• You must have achieved academic training in a degree-awarding body in Kenya or overseas, and have completed, or will have completed by the end of December 2011,Bachelor’s degree with First or Upper Second class standard (i.e. an average score of 68% / GPA 3.7 or higher).
• You must be a citizen of Kenya and have been resident in Kenya for at least five of the last ten years. Candidates with dual citizenship may not apply in more than one of the countries in which they are citizens.
• You must be available for interview at the time of selection in Nairobi. It is expected that the interviews will be held in early November 2011. d. You must be at least 19 years and younger than 26 years by 1 October 2011. This means applicants must have been born after 30 September 1985 and on or before 1 October, 1992.
A selection committee will make no nomination if it is of the opinion that there is no sufficiently qualified candidate.
