PhD/ Doctoral position Computational Structural Biology at TU München Germany

Doctoral position available in the independent research goup “Computational Structural Biology”www.langelab.ch.tum.de at the Bavarian NMR Center at the Chemistry Department of the TU München.Development of algorithms for the determination of biomolecular structures in atomic resolution from sparse NMR data. The applicant will extend the promising CS-Rosetta approach (cf. Raman et al. 2010, Science / doi:10.1126/science.1183649) to utilize other sparse data sources, e.g., paramagnetic enhancement relaxation (PRE) or solid state NMR and will develop algorithms to improve the conformational search. The PhD-student will apply the methodology to actual structure determination problems in collaboration with international NMR labs. The work, thus, gives the exciting opportunity to develop a method with an immediate high impact for biomolecular structure determination and to gain many contacts in the international NMR community.
