A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the laboratory of George Sen, Ph.D., Assistant Professor, Department of Dermatology, Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, UCSD School of Medicine, San Diego, CA.that control epidermal stem cell self-renewal and differentiation. We have recently shown that both DNA methylation and Histone modifications are extremely critical to stem cell function and differentiation (Nature. 2010, 463: 563-567; Genes Dev. 2008, 22: 1865-1870).
Nature of Job : The projects focus on identifying and characterizing the role of novel epigenetic factors in epidermal stem cell self-renewal, differentiation, and tumorigenesis.
Qualifications: We are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow with significant experience in cell biology, biochemistry and molecular biology techniques.Applicants should have a PHD or MD/PHD in molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, or a related field.
Salary : Salary is commensurate with experience and will follow university guidelines. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
The successful candidate should have a good publication record, and experience in cell and molecular biology. Desired skills include small animal surgery, isolation and culture of epidermal stem cells, bioinformatics, and protein purification.
