Short course Competing Claims on Natural Resources in Wageningen, Netherlands

Diposkan oleh Jurnalis on Monday, April 11, 2011

As from 2010 the Wageningen UR Centre for Development Innovation (formerly
Wageningen International) offers a 2-weeks short course focusing on conflict
management entitled: "Competing claims on natural resources". In the underlying
philosophy of the course natural resource management equates natural resource
conflict management and I think that most of you are professionally so much
engaged in managing conflict that you may agree with this philosophy. If that is
the case this course is of interest to you, your colleagues and your wider
network. Please forward this mail and attachment (the course brochure)
accordingly.

The next “Competing Claims on Natural resources” course runs from 20th of
February to 2nd of March 2012. I know, that seems far away but please realise
that the application period for a NFP fellowship closes the 29th of April 2011
(and that is next month!)

For this course Netherlands (NFP) fellowships are available. Please note that
the application procedure from Nuffic has been
changed: http://www.nuffic.nl/international-students/scholarships/scholarships-administered-by-nuffic/the-netherlands-fellowship-programmes/fellowships-for-short-courses/nfp-sc-introduction

The most important changes are about eligibility: in case you have received a
NFP fellowship for a short course in 2010, you may not apply in 2011. Also,
NUFFIC allows you to benefit from a short course fellowship only two (2) times
in total. In case you are eligible (and please check above link to be sure) go
through the following steps:

1. NFP candidates must apply to Wageningen UR Centre for Development
Innovation (CDI) for admission to the training. Acceptable candidates will
receive a letter informing them if they have been admitted. Use this address for
on-line
application: http://www.cdi.wur.nl/UK/newsagenda/agenda/Competing_claims_on_natural_resources.htm Applications
should be submitted to Wageningen UR CDI before 29 April 2011.

2. In order to receive an NFP fellowship you have to apply through the
Scholarship online (Sol)
system: http://www.nuffic.nl/international-students/scholarships/scholarships-administered-by-nuffic/the-netherlands-fellowship-programmes/fellowships-for-short-courses/application-procedure.
The deadline for a NFP Fellowship application is also 29 April 2011. If you
need help with your application you can download the SOL user manual for
applicants:
http://www.nuffic.nl/international-organizations/docs/nfp/sol-manual-for-applicants.pdf

This manual will help you step by step with your NFP fellowship application in
SOL.

3. Please read also carefully the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) page
from
Nuffic:http://www.nuffic.nl/international-students/scholarships/scholarships-administered-by-nuffic/the-netherlands-fellowship-programmes/faqs

4. If you are not eligible please pass on this email to a colleague or best
friend.

Thanks in advance,

We hope to see you in Wageningen the 20th of February 2012.
