Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Fellowship in experimental physics within the Atomic Physics Group at the University of Otago, New Zealand. The group’s research is centered around manipulation of atoms using laser light.
The project aims at trapping and manipulating single and small sets of neutral atoms. For more information see our recent publications: Nature Physics 6 951-954 (2010) and Optics Letters 36, 1041–1043 (2011), or visit our web-page.
The group is part of the Jack Dodd Centre for Quantum Technology
The University of Otago is located in the centre of the scenic Otago province of New Zealand.
Successful candidates should have a PhD in Physics and a demonstrated strength in one of the areas of Laser cooling of neutral atoms, single atom/molecule detection, or optical physics. For further information please see the Job Description.
