Job description

In this project, the hypothesis will be tested that the mechanism of orofacial clefting (OFC) can be identified by exome sequencing in combination with a comprehensive screening of non-coding regulatory elements in CL/P families. This work is expected to detect novel genes and regulatory elements as mechanisms causative for OFC. Results will be publicated in scientific journals and presented at scientific meetings.

Requirements

We are looking for an enthusiastic PhD student with an MSc degree in Molecular Life Sciences, (Medical) Biology, Biomedical Sciences or similar. Your working style can be described as independent and well-structured, and you are a team player. You have special interest in genetics and developmental biology. You have a strong motivation to become a successful scientist.   • Experience in Molecular Biology
  • Well developed social skills
  • Permission to work with mice (art. 9) is an advantage

Conditions of employment

  • Temporary 4 years
  • 36 uur per week
  • Salary level  10A: maximal € 2673 gross per month
