The fellowship is for a period of up to 4 years, with 25 % compulsory work. Starting date no later than October 1, 2011. The teaching must be conducted in one of the Scandinavian languages (preferred) or English. Only candidates with very good communication skills in English will be considered.
Job description:
Both PhD fellowships are vacant in the field of experimental physics. The successful candidates will be expected to work on projects within one of the research groups of Advanced Materials and Complex Physics, Structure Physics, Physical Electronics, Electronics and Instrumentation, Nuclear Physics, Biophysics and Medical Physics, Experimental Particle Physics or Plasma- and Space Physics. Requirements/qualifications:
Applicants must hold a Master’s degree or equivalent in Physics with emphasis on experimental investigations and techniques relevant for one or several of the present activities at the Department of Physics, University of Oslo.
The purpose of the fellowship is research training leading to the successful completion of a PhD degree.
The fellowship requires admission to the research training programme at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. An approved plan for the research training, including a project outline, must be submitted no later than two months after taking up the position, and the admission must be approved within three months.
